Fall 2008 issue cancelled | August 27, 2008
Due to numerous circumstances outside of our control, the special issue scheduled for Fall 2008 has been cancelled. Submissions received for this issue will be considered for the 2008-2009 issue unless retracted.


2007-2008 issue available now | April 1, 2008
The Spring 2008 issue of Harbinger, including poetry, prose and visual art by students at Texas Tech University is available now. Copies may be picked up at the information desk in the Student Union Building, or in the English department office, (English building, room 212,) on the bookcase just inside the door.

Additionally, the deadline for the Fall 2008 issue has been pushed to April 9, 2008.


Now accepting submissions | February 6, 2008
Harbinger is now accepting submissions of creative work which address, exemplify or otherwise interact with contemporary and historic ideas of difference or diversity among people. Accepted submissions will be included in the Fall 2008 edition, which will address these themes of difference and diversity. The deadline for submissions is April 9, 2008. Check the submission guidelines for more information.

While Harbinger is open to a multitude of opinions, submissions seen as intended to degrade, intimidate, or encourage violence/prejudice against any person or group may be refused regardless of quality.


Accepting applications | January 29, 2009
We are currently seeking student editors to review submissions of essay, film, literature and visual art, a student to conduct interviews with important figures in the arts, and a student to manage and execute arts-related events.

Notifications | January 12, 2008
Some notifications have already gone out, and others are in the process of doing so. Sorry about the delay in getting them turned around. If you submitted and did not receive a notification, it is likely because your cover letter wasn't included, the included cover letter didn't include a contact email, the included email was wrong, or for some unknown reason, email addresses that looked correct were bounced back from the listed emails. The submission guidelines specify when and how you can request the status of your submission.

Look for news soon about hiring and submission periods for upcoming issues, as well as information about the release of the current issue.
