Rob: Subject heading: World in terror/economy in despair I rose this morning the same as I always do grabbed my towel and headed down the hall for a reviving shower. While in the shower I overheard some of the guys talking about a plane crash and the world trade center. Then I raced down the hall still dripping wet looking into rooms on the way down the hall. I saw quick images of what looked to me like smoke stacks of an industrial area. I opened up my room and turned straight to CNN and there stood one gigantic blazing inferno. Then no sooner did I witness the second plane crash into and through the other world trade center. I could only think, is this a movie? These sort of things don't happen in the USA. Well, I just hope we are all awake because this did happen. Now the question is how will we proceed from here. We could easily tear apart the first person we give blame to. But, would that be the right thing to do? I feel we must give indisputable evidence and blame to the correct party and then put these bastards to death. Send them to the fires of hell where they belong.

They have destroyed some and dented all of our major financial institutions. Partially all of the worlds money comes through the world trade center. Now after this bombing you have to wonder are we headed to another great depression. If you ask me, you're darn right we are. The sudden jump in the price of gas may only be a momentary thing or it could just be the beginning of a trend.

Either way I think we should prepare for economic hardships. I suggest prayer. Cheers,
Rob

Sully: As I sit back and watch how easy it is to point fingers and hate others, it scares me. It scares me that at times of tragedy like this it shows how some people can be so inhumane. I will never forget yesterday for the rest of my life. I remember finding out about this great tragedy yesterday at about 10 a.m. when I walked into the Union and watched the t.v. with about 300 other onlooking students. The news didn't really have a true affect on me until a girl walked right in front of me with her tray of food. She looked at the t.v., immediately dropped her tray and started crying. Shortly after that, she called her father on her cell phone and asked why this was happening and if her mom was alright. Just from hearing her conversation, I was guessing that her mother was working in one of those buildings, my heart went out to her and I felt horrible, and I tried putting myself in her situation and how I would have reacted as well. The main thing that makes me mad is the unappreciation of life. Thanx, Sully

Jim: Where I am from gas is up to 5 dollars a gallon already!! Thats nuts. But I will say this if we go to war I will sign up without thinking twice...pending I am guaranteed some action. Nobody bombs our country and gets away with it! I say kill them all. Who saw those bastards on TV celebrating in the streets because of what happened? I did and it pissed me off.

Heather: Jim, I'm not sure if we will go to war. We do have reason to go to war (the estimated death toll is 10,000) but I'm not sure if our economy can handle the expenses of a war. We are already in a recession and we have to at least rebuild the pentagon and that will take a great deal of money. It looks as though we may go to war over this because I don't see any other alternative.

Paul: I think we should start blowing stuff up. We can't take this terrorist attack sitting down. When the world trade centers were bombed a few years ago we did not do much about it. Now they came back and bombed us again, if we don't do anything about this then they will do it again. I think we should send a full-out attack of the Middle East. We don't know exactly who did it but we know they are somewhere from the Middle East. So we should take all them out to be sure we get the people responsible for the attack. Also it would probably lower the gas prices if we took over the Middle East.

Jim: That may be the dumbest thing I have ever read! I'm all for war, but until we know for sure who did it we CAN NOT just start blowing shit up! America has a reputation that it must keep. We are supposed to be the good guy. Good guys don't kill innocent people. If we look like the bad guy that's not good in many ways and for many reasons.

Jim: They now believe that the planes were hijacked by knife-wielding terrorists. Does no one have any balls any more? OK I can see being afraid of a gun but honestly a knife? The people on those planes by far out numbered the hijackers. So a few might get stabbed. Second, if the people on the plane knew that they were going to die they should have tried to crash the plane before it crashed into the World Trade Towers! At least die heros instead of just people being hijacked.

Andrew: Talk about stupid e-mails! You honestly think that there is always some Bruce Willis on every plane in America that is going to take down a man hijacking a plane at knife point! Lets see what kind of balls you have when you have a huge ass knife pointed at you. Those people on the planes had to have been unbelievably scared. And you expect them to forget all that and just attack the terrorist. That is the dumbest thing I ever heard.
