Bookstore reviews written by composition students

Date: 11 Jan 1995 17:21:25 GMT A collection of Chicago and Evanston bookstore reviews is now available on NUInfo, Northwestern University's gopher/www server.

These reviews were written by Northwestern undergraduates in my English A05 course (Basic Composition). Each one describes the location and merits of a different Evanston or Chicago bookstore. The reviews are signed by their authors.

This collection of reviews has three purposes: to inform students, newcomers or visitors about some interesting local bookstores, to demonstrate that a classroom writing assignments can serve a wider audience, and to stimulate other Northwestern students and faculty to contribute similar reviews or commentaries to NUInfo.

I plan to have my students expand this collection in the future, and welcome any comments.
